International Women’s Day
Today is International Women’s Day and I’d like to bring your attention to Fawzia Koofi, who I have recently had the privilege of meeting and now work with.
Fawzia is an Afghan politician, writer, and women’s rights activist. She is an ex Member of Parliament in Kabul and was the Vice President of the National Assembly, the first woman to reach this position.
Now exiled in London, she campaigns tirelessly for women’s rights in Afghanistan which are being removed by the Taliban regime in what she calls a gender-apartheid.
Having survived multiple assassination attempts, including being shot in the arm, Fawzia is a courageous leader, dedicated mother to two daughters, and through her pro bono activism is making sure the world does not forget about her people.
Connect with Fawzia, support her and be inspired.
