Factual Friday from NewLeaf
Imagine you’re walking along a road in the city in which you work and a phone box you’re passing rings.
No one else is around, so you answer it.
A colleague of yours is on the line and (without skipping a beat) asks you how to work the fax machine in the office.
This incredible coincidence really happened to someone.
It turns out they looked at the persons HR record to get their mobile phone number, but accidently used their employee number instead and that number just happened to be the number of the phone box they were passing at that very moment!
This is one of many incredible coincidences in the Cambridge Coincidences collection, curated by Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter OBE
